Help me design a Voltage Controlled Oscillator?

Please, help!

Our team needs to design a Voltage Controlled Oscillator. The problem is we can't use varactors or such devices. That is we can only use transistors, resistors and capacitors. Input will be DC signal, output will be a sinusoid signal with frequency proportional to the input voltage with middle freq. around 1 MHz. Actually we need to get it as high as possible. OTA aka Gilbert cell multiplier. Look up the data sheet for the LM137000:

You can build a discrete version of it and it will work just fine. Then build the VCO they show in their data sheet with your discrete parts.

It works. I've done it.Help me design a Voltage Controlled Oscillator?
Above is a good answer, also take a look at
